Here is Colby’s incisions one week post surgery, the vertical incision really opens up for about 4 inches. The raw area where stitches have pulled is a concern for me also…but I’m not used to looking at these things so am having a hard time gauging how bad this is–seems bad to me.
yikes…i don’t have any professional idea on ‘bad’ either, but i’d be taking colby to the vet to have this checked. i’m a big worrier about infection, etc.. i’ve seen where other folks have said to ‘smell’ it, and if it doesn’t ‘smell’ right, then go to the vet. let us know how this works out, it’s scary looking for sure.

We went to the vet yesterday afternoon..emailing the vet pictures was no longer giving me the peace of mind I needed. Even though it never had any odor, the look of it was pretty ugly. I’m posting how it went.
I really liked your blog! It helped me alot…
I love the expression. Everyone needs to express there own opinion and feel free to hear others. Keep it up 🙂
Do not agonize over your canine’s emotional health if he loses a leg. He’ll be completely all right, once he physically adjusts to the missing limb. He will not be sad.
